After Marriage and First National Bank of Izard County. Things that really go together

It's time to return to our regular programming around here.  After the festivities of the past few days, the getting used to our new status as regular people, after being openly reviled by thousands of Arkansans, some of whom are actually quitting their jobs because we got married. I say, if you can't do your job, you must quit. These County Clerks don't seem to have problems handing out marriage licenses to people who are marrying for the 3rd, 4th or 5th times, but two 70ish year old women who have enjoyed over 20 years of living together sends them into such paroxysms that they cannot fill out simple papers. Oh well, shades of Orval Faubus and George Wallace.  If you don't know there two people, look it up.

Oh, and self immolation: I've not yet seen anyone actually do this after promising they would. And I had marshmallows all ready.

Now we have some work to do to change bank accounts, Social Security, etc. It will be a pleasure.


So, today what about banks?  (Did you see what I did there?)  For the most part, they are accessible. The First National Bank of Izard County is.

Phone Numbers: 870-297-3711 As with most banks, the building is accessible except for the front doors.  These doors are so heavy, as they think banks need to look like safe places to keep your money.  What these doors do it make it mostly impossible to get in without two strong folks to get and keep the doors open until you get in if you travel on wheels. So, Izard County, while trying to do the right thing, didn't invest a few more dollars to make the doors self opening. A button to push on the side of the door to make it open would be so easy.
