Who? Us?

We are two disabled, oldish women who have been adventuring through life for years. We are talking about how disabilities, both visible and not, change the way we enjoy our retirement.

Hilltop Country Market Rating 2

Hilltop Country Market used to be a gas station. In fact, you can still buy gas there, but I don't think it's their main business.  It was a typical convenience store attached to a gas station. Now it's more of a restaurant with lunch served daily.
It's not in downtown Mountain View, but out a few miles from town.  You can see the entrance is raised from the gravel that makes up the parking lot. You can get inside with effort, but there's that door staring you in the face. Get the door open and you are back in the parking lot again. There's a ramp around the corner, but still there's that door.  Evidently all the patrons Hilltop wants can walk without assistance.

Charlyn's Cronies Rating - 1

301 West Main Street
Mountain ViewAR 72560
870-269-5740
Located in one of the oldest buildings in Mountain View and featuring a real soda fountain like we grew up with, Charlyn's is a new business with supposedly great food.  You can see the building is totally inaccessible for anyone needing assistance with walking.

The tables are very close together, so even if a wheelchair or scooter user could enter, he or she could not get to a table. I have never asked anyone to make the tables accessible because without being able to enter the front door, what is the point after all.

Rating - 1 - can't get any worse

Rainbow Cafe Not accessible Rating = 1

The Rainbow Cafe
216 W Main St
Mountain View AR

I understand the food is great in this restaurant.  If you are mobility impaired, you will never find out because to enter the building, you need to climb a huge concrete step.
